Arenal Volcano National Park

Arenal Volcano National Park is a Costa Rican national park in the central part of the country, forming the Arenal Tilaran Conservation Area.  Hotel El Velero is approximately 2 hours and 45 minutes from Arenal via rental car.  There are also day trips available which include lunch, an English speaking guide, entrance to the hot springs and transportation.  Do not miss this natural wonder while you are in Costa Rica! One of Costa Rica’s most spectacular sights is the active Arenal Volcano.  At its base are several hot springs that allow one to see (on a clear night) and hear eruptions.  Intermittent rumbling explosions and nocturnal fire spitting are mesmerizing.  Lava cascades down the side of this nearly perfect conical volcano.  See photos at ArenalNet.
